Fifth Grade Safety Patrol: This program provides a selected group of fifth grade students the opportunity to serve as safety role models for the school. These students assume responsibility for safely delivering younger students to and from their buses each day, as well as ensure a safe and orderly arrival and dismissal for all students. Additionally, they provide instruction to younger students about bus safety.

The following programs are generously funded through PTO grants:

Knitting Club: Students in grades 3-5 are invited to participate and learn to knit. Students learn new stitches and created lovely homemade projects each year.

Chess Club: This program available to students at grades K through 5 is designed to teach students the game of chess and develop strategic thinking. The club focuses on enhancing students’ understanding and enjoyment of the game of chess through structured teaching and recreational play.

Chorus: This musical program provides interested students in grades 4 and 5 the opportunity to sing, dance, and perform. Concerts are performed for the school and families in the winter and spring. The chorus also performs at the annual PTO evening book fair and twice a year at a local senior residence.

Intramurals: This afterschool athletic program provides students in grades 4 and 5 the opportunity to play and compete in several team sport activities. Teams are selected and play a variety of sports including floor hockey and volleyball.

Study Skills: This academic program offered to identified students at grades 3 – 5 seeks to support academically at risk students. The program focuses on test taking skills and strategies to prepare students for success on the NJASK assessment.

The PTO funds additional programs annually based on grant proposals offering unique and exciting after school opportunities for students.
